My wife and I purchased our first home for $11,000. We then spent one year renovating the house into the home we live in today. During the renovation, I salvaged lots of lumber, some of which I used in making pieces of furniture. This kitchen island is one of the pieces that I made for a customer. I've always had a thing for using reclaimed wood but this island was something special. By using wood salvaged from my home, I was able to recoup a significant amount of the money spent during the renovation. I also enjoy telling customers where the lumber came from. This design can be made in multiple sizes. I give dimensions to build it 4, 5, 6, and 7 feet long and 2, 3 and 4 feet wide. An island is a great way to add space to work in a kitchen, especially smaller houses. They are also excellent places to serve food and drinks when entertaining.

Here's a video of the full build!

Each page of the plans are filled with hand-drawn diagrams and sketches. All of the views and dimensions are present to build the island exactly as it is shown in the photos and video. If you find yourself with any questions, email me at thehomesteadcraftsman@gmail.com.
